Along the way, as man landed on the moon, microwave cooking surged in popularity and materials like plastic and polyester dominated the fashion landscape, the candy dish faded into oblivion. Bluebird’s mission is to revive the candy dish and its long tradition of treating guests well. We have scoured the country to compile the Bluebird candy dish collection, drawing from sources such as midwestern glass companies that continue to use age-old techniques and hip east coast companies dedicated to innovative design. Perfect as a gift paired with sweet delights or simply splendid for your own home, Bluebird’s collection of vintage-inspired and modern candy dishes combines exquisite design with a classic purpose. Founded by Maggie Wickes in 2009, Bluebird Candy Dish Co. is named for the bluebird skies of Colorado, where Maggie first contemplated the near extinction of the candy dish. Two years later, Maggie and her family are seizing an opportunity to expand both their professional careers and moving to Austin, TX. When she approached me about whether to sell, or close Bluebird Candy Dish Co, I immediately told her I would like to take it over and continue on with her mission of reviving the candy dish.
